Note: This index is rather large (around 11,000 titles), and the “edit/find on this page” approach is advised when seeking any artist or title.
We have been very fortunate to have been granted permission, by Bob’s son, to post Bob Macleod’s
source list to his thirteen volumes of transcriptions of early blues song words.
Bob’s first two volumes are the words taken down from all the
Yazoo Records LPs, from L–1001 to L–1083.
His transcriptions continued with the CDs released by
Document Records
in their 5000 series, together with the words from the 50 CDs in their Blues Document series.

The books can be requested through your local library services or possibly acquired, on-line, through a book search engine such as addall.com. This last, however, is doubtful.
Besides doing the Document lyric transcriptions, Bob also did some invaluable work on Document’s original 78rpm records, compiling the song-writing credits that appeared on the labels.
Bob Macleod was very generous in sharing both his time and his knowledge with those (including me) who contacted him, usually concerning points about transcriptions that Bob either had not, yet got round to (e.g. Spark Plug Smith), or about some song that he had corrected or updated for one reason or another, after its original publication.
He is missed by many.
